Karen is the Chief Operating Officer of SMEC’s business in South East Asia and the Pacific and a member of the company’s global Executive Committee. Karen holds a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering with Architecture and has more than 25 years of extensive management experience across the UK, New Zealand, Australia and Asia. She started working at SMEC in 2015 and joined the SMEC Foundation board as a Director in 2021.

The SMEC Foundation was founded in 2001, with approximately A$1.58 million donated to over 234 projects in the areas of Health, Education, Community Development, Emergency Relief and the Environment. The SMEC Foundation is a critical link between the corporate world and the real-life needs of communities impacted by natural disasters and communities living in less fortunate circumstances.
