The SMEC Foundation was honoured to be invited to the inauguration of Harivillu 3, a comprehensive childcare facility in Pampanuru Village, Andhra Pradesh, India.

This project, supported by SMEC Foundation in partnership with The Anganwadi Project (TAP) and the Rural Development Trust (RDT), supports young children and their mothers. The new facility includes a classroom, kitchen, pantry, open cooking and cleaning facilities, restrooms for both children and adults, and a dedicated feeding room for mothers. This initiative aims to provide essential services and support to the local community, ensuring a nurturing environment for early childhood development.

Representing SMEC Foundation, Rajeev Dhronamraju, Senior Manager – SMEC People & Culture GDC Bangalore, had the honour of officially opening the facility and sharing insights on contributions to the program to date, including funding of Harivillu 2 in 2019 and Harivillu 3 in 2023. The warm reception from the attendees highlighted the positive impact of our efforts.

The inauguration ceremony was also graced by esteemed dignitaries including Mr. Paritala Sriram (Local Political Leader), Dr. Vinod Kumar V., IAS (District Collector and Magistrate of Ananthapuram), Moncho Ferrer (Chairman, RDT), and Yerri Swamy (Sarpanch of Pampanuru).

The SMEC Foundation is proud to be continuing this relationship with The Anganwadi Project, following previous involvement in supporting Harivillu 1 and 2. The SMEC Foundation also recently announced support of the Harivillu 4 project, Vaddipalli Village of Armakur Mandal in Andhra Pradesh.

I felt honoured to represent SMEC Foundation among esteemed guests, including the Chairperson of the Rural Development Trust, the District Collector, local leaders, and the Anganwadi area head. They graciously invited me to share the stage and address the villagers. It was a unique opportunity to highlight SMEC Foundation’s impactful global initiatives, our commitment to enhancing lives, and our Chairman’s philosophy: “Our philosophy has always been that a little money spent wisely can go a long way.”
