Senior Executive Director, Energy

Wooi Leong is a Senior Executive Director at Surbana Jurong Group, also serving as the ASEAN Functional Lead for Power & Energy for Surbana Jurong and SMEC. He is also the Global Lead for Renewables and part of the Global Sustainability Council. He is experienced in strategy advisory, project delivery leadership, technical consultancy and R&D development for power & energy infrastructure & technologies, renewables, energy storage systems, hydrogen, ammonia, low carbon alternatives and CCUS related projects. Notable achievements include developing large-scale renewable projects, underground storage facilities, industrial clusters, and advanced research in energy technologies.  

 

Wooi Leong contributes to various industry committees, holds board positions, and leads advanced research initiatives. He was also nominated as Who’s Who of Engineering in Singapore in 2020.  

 

Wooi Leong holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in engineering from Nanyang Technological University and has completed executive programs at Harvard Business School and Imperial College London.

Committee

SMEC’s Management Committee has primary authority for the management and monitoring of SMEC’s operations, and the implementation of the Company Strategy subject to policies and procedures approved by the Board of Directors. The Management Committee is comprised of senior individuals with extensive experience in strategic and operational planning.
