SMEC in Myanmar

SMEC has operated in Myanmar since 1969, and established a permanent office in Yangon in 2015.

 

SMEC is a key player in Myanmar’s Hydropower and Energy sector, having been involved in a number of projects including: Myanmar’s Power Sector Assessment and Strategy project; Ta Sang Hydropower Project; and the International Power System Rehabilitation Project.

 

More recently, SMEC was engaged by the Ministry of Construction to provide detailed design, construction supervision and project implementation support services on the Maubin to Pyapon Road Rehabilitation Project. SMEC’s services will include: the installation and commissioning of management information; financial management; project management; and contract administration systems.
