SMEC in Lesotho
SMEC has operated in Lesotho since 1994, and established a permanent office in opened in Maseru in 1996.
SMEC’s first project in Lesotho was the Organisation and Manpower Study for the Lesotho Highlands Water Project, whereby SMEC was engaged to review the organisational requirements of the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority.
Since then, SMEC has worked on a number of projects in Lesotho including: detailed design, construction supervision and contract management for Mohale Dam; advisory services and implementation support to the Lesotho transport sector as part of the Integrated Transport Project; and the preparation of a water catchment study in the highlands.
