Mission Australia is the parent organisation that runs Brisbane’s Café One which provides low cost meals and support services to homeless and disadvantaged people.

Café One relies entirely on community support. Fundraising efforts by SMEC’s Brisbane office and a donation from the SMEC Foundation gave Café One AU$4,000. The money was spent renovating the kitchen, purchasing new equipment and two months funding for Café One’s Identity Program, which helps homeless people apply for identification papers, required to obtain work or access Medicare.
