SMEC in India
SMEC has operated in India since 1975, and established a permanent office in Central Delhi in 1991, relocating to Gurgaon in 2006.
In 1994 SMEC India Pvt. Ltd. was established as a fully owned subsidiary company. SMEC now has seven permanent offices in India: two in Bangalore, and one in Assam, Chennai, Gurgaon, Hyderabad and Uttar Pradesh.
SMEC’s project experience in India is diverse, and includes: Rohtang Highway Tunnel; Kohala Hydro Electric Project; Andhra Pradesh Water Improvement Project; Dedicated Freight Corridor; and Karnataka State Highways rehabilitation project.
More recently, SMEC has been engaged to provide construction supervision consultancy services on the Chhattisgarh State Road Sector Project in central India, and project management, supervision and support during the implementation of the Distribution Strengthening Project in Assam State.
