We are thrilled to share the success of our Transmission and Distribution team in Vietnam, who have been awarded a Certificate of Outstanding Performance for their exceptional work on the Smart Grids-Transmission Efficiency Phase 1 project.

This project, funded by the German Development Bank (KfW), was implemented by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and aimed at modernising and extending Vietnam’s power transmission network.

 

 

 

 

Key Achievements:

  • Infrastructure Development: The project included two 220kV substations (Quang Chau and Lang Son) with a combined capacity of 375 MVA, three double circuit 220kV transmission lines spanning 190 km, and two 500/220kV substation extension bays.
  • Comprehensive Services: Our team played a pivotal role in organising tendering and procurement processes, certifying funds disbursement, conducting quality checks, monitoring sites, ensuring final project acceptance, managing reporting, and establishing baseline data for KPIs.

 

Collaboration and Impact:
As Project Implementation Consultant, SMEC provided specialist services, ensuring compliance with KfW procedures and international standards. Our team’s dedication to sustainable solutions earned praise from Mr Nguyen Van Tinh, Deputy Director of CPMB, EVNNPT, for outstanding services and ethical business practices. We are proud of our team’s dedication and expertise in enhancing Vietnam’s power infrastructure. This achievement reflects our mission to create sustainable and resilient communities through innovative engineering solutions.
